Ocala Memorial Post 27 Ocala Auxiliary Unit

More than a century in the making, our community of volunteers serving veterans, military, and their families continues to mark a legacy of Service Not Self.
About Post 27 Ocala Auxiliary Unit
Auxiliary Unit 27 is proudly beginning our 2nd Century of Service to the Veteran Community in Ocala. We began this journey 100 years ago in 1919 when the American Legion was formed after what we thought was the "War to end ALL Wars," World War I, or the "Great War" as it was known back then. Well, that didn't happen, and we fought World War II, then Korea, and then Vietnam, and since then we've fought on many new fronts. Through it all, the American Legion Auxiliary was there and Veterans were returning with physical and emotional needs. The Auxiliary is still there today doing what we can to help our men and women in the military. Please consider joining our unit. If your spouse, brother, sister, parents, or grandparents were veterans, you are eligible for membership!

Who can Join?
Any spouse of a veteran, as well as daughters, sisters and granddaughters of veterans are now eligible to join. Our programs help veterans and families of active duty military personnel, distribute traditional paper poppies to promote veteran appreciation and to raise funds for area veteran causes, and send outstanding girls to Girls State training in Tallahassee.
